MUSICIANS  AGES 10-110 WANTED

Our multi-generational Shomrei Simcha Band will be performing at Shabbat Services on Friday, March 4 and on Purim, Wednesday, March 23.

If you read music, play your instrument regularly or wish you played your instrument regularly, then the Simcha band is for you. If you have played with us before or want to join the band for the first time, then the Simcha band is for you. Conductor Mark Weinstein will encourage you to be the best musician you can be, while having fun and making new friends both young and old.

Rehearsal rehearsals (pizza always included) is as follows:

Sunday February 21 at 11:45-1:15 (immediately after JLC) – practice Shabbat music
Wednesday March 2 at 6:15-7:45 (immediately after JLC) – practice Shabbat music
Wednesday March 16 at 6:15-7:45 (immediately after JLC) – practice Purim music

We welcome you to perform with us at both events but if you can only make one performance, that is fine. We encourage you to join us at all rehearsals but if you can only make one or two or cannot make any rehearsals, (but promise that you are practicing at home), we invite you to join the band on Shabbat and Purim.

Merrill Silver

Merrill Silver is a long-time member of Shomrei. She can often be seen at the piano as part of the Simcha Band, a cross-generational musical ensemble she organizes at Shomrei. She and her husband Andy host "Minyan @ Home" the Wednesday night Maariv service at their home. She has tutored many of Shomrei's B'nai Mitzvah kids in leading services and chanting Torah.
