Yasher Koach to MESH Co-Chairs! (Editor’s Note)
For our Co-chairs of MESH at Shomrei, Amy Grossman and Lynne Kurzweil,  I’m sure it’s a ton of work and must be more than a little nerve wracking at times.  But you’d never know it!  Amy and Lynne handled all the organizing and cajoling with grace and smiles!  Yasher Koach for enabling our community to participate in this vital mitzvah!

MESH Volunteer Thank You Brunch 6/28/15
Amy and Lynne hosted a lovely Sunday Brunch at Lynne’s house this past Sunday to show our appreciation of our fabulous MESH volunteers.  About 20 people happily schmoozed and noshed.  Could there be a better way to celebrate the mitzvah we do every Tuesday night, September through June?  As we look forward to restarting Shomrei’s MESH Cafe in September, we are hoping to reach out to new members, in addition to current members who have participated in the past, but not recently.  We say goodbye to our terrific teens who have helped out over the past few years and wish them Mazel Tov as they head off to college.  We are fortunate to have several younger teens who have stepped up this year to take the reins.

MESH Cafe Report 6/30/15
This past Tuesday night, the Shomrei MESH cafe marked a lovely end to the season.
Aileen Grossberg, Arden Epstein and Joe Most prepared a delicious meal of:

Gazpacho with corn chips
Bread
Tacos with tofu and pinto beans… and all the fixins
Mexican rice
Mexican corn salad
Watermelon
Cookies

I think everyone had seconds!

Merrill played the piano and took requests from our guests – I think some may have sung along as well!

Our volunteers were: Sierra Wendeborn and Benjamin and Sam Grossman.

The meal, the music and the volunteers all received tremendous applause.

Enjoy the summer everyone – we look forward to seeing you when MESH cafe starts again in September.
