It’s Time to Bowl, Bowl, Bowl!

Dear Friends,

I am writing with an odd request—as a member of HOMECorp’ s board, I have been asked to form a Shomrei bowling team for one of HOMECorp’ s most energetic fundraisers—a BOWL-A-Thon.  It’s a corny and fun event and it raises a good deal of money for the agency. What I need are 6 courageous bowlers who are willing to spend Sunday afternoon, January 26 at Eagle Rock Lanes!  The entry fee is $100 per bowler or $600 per team.  The fee includes shoes and snacks.  And if you can’t bowl, will you be a sponsor?  More details below…and many thanks to all of you!

Here’s what to do if you want to be on the team which I have named Shomrei’s Swingers:

  • Find some friends and join together—we need 6 bowlers at minimum—more are always welcome!
  • Write back to me with your name and shoe size.  I will register you on line; bring your check or credit card to the bowling ally
  • If you want to be a sponsor and not bowl, you can donate to HOMECorp on line or send me a check made out to HOMECorp  And there are prizes for best costumes—Purim comes early!!

What is HOMECorp?…HOMECorp is Montclair’s affordable housing agency—committed to preserving affordable housing in our town.  HOMECorp creates and maintains housing that preserves economic diversity and ignites community revitalization while fostering financial empowerment. We work to provide housing choices in Montclair for all residents.  Each year we renovate homes for sale or rent to low and moderate income families.  Over our 30+ year history we have completed over 100 permanent affordable housing units.  We have also provided First Time Homebuyer seminars, credit counseling, foreclosure prevention and savings preparation for more than 8,600 clients since 2006!
