Report from Captain Alex Kent:
18 MESH guests were served on Tuesday night with a skeleton staff of only 3 volunteers.
Lynne Kurzweil was chef/server/chief bottle washer, ably assisted by Alex Kent and High School student Rachel. Montclair High School is on vacation so hopefully next week the volunteer ranks will fatten up.
The size of the staff did not impact the usual high quality of food and service. A first course of red lentil soup was provided by Merrill Silver, and served with bread. Lynne prepared barbecued chicken legs, corn on the cob, and we also had coleslaw, pickles and rye bread graciously donated by the Chalom family. Dessert was fruit salad and rugelah.
The evening went smoothly and the guests applauded our efforts.
