MESH 2016 feb 2

Report from Captain Lynne Kurzweil:

We welcomed 22 grateful guests to Shomrei’s MESH Cafe this past Tuesday evening.  The seasonably mild temperatures facilitated a warm and relaxed ambiance.

Chef John Lasiter, ably assisted by son, Sam, created a delicious and eclectic menu with a Mexican flare.  Starter was Barley and Date Salad with crackers, followed by a hearty and healthy green salad with tomatoes, cucumbers and carrots.  Main course was Chicken Posole, on the mild side, brimming with chunks of chicken, vegetables and hominy and garnished with lime, cilantro and tortilla crumbles.  Almost everyone had seconds with enough to share amongst the MESH staff and Shomrei helpers.  Hunks of challah and homemade apple turnovers rounded out the meal.

Helpers included Linda and Todd Wieseneck and Bernardo Breziner.  Our wonderful Shomrei teens Amalia, Siona, Matt and Dalia and friends Elisa, Maya and Teddy pitched in cheerfully as they enjoyed sharing in this wonderful mitzvah.  MESH staffers, Adrienne and Bonny, were super as always.  Many thanks to everyone who participated.
