We had a small but appreciative group of guests at our MESH Café this week. Preschool parent Melissa Elbaum whipped up dinner for 17 guests, assisted by Lynne Kurzweil and teen helper Jake.
Lynne also came to the rescue, playing the MESH song on her cell phone when we could not locate the tape.
Dinner began with a trio of crackers topped with with cream cheese and lox and with egg salad, leftovers from last week’s kiddush. This was followed by a salad served with buttered rolls. For a main course, there was cod marinated in a soy-citrus glaze, jasmine rice with peas & carrots, and green beans. Desert was fruit salad served with a Danish or cookie.
Our guests particularly loved the fish and many of them asked for seconds.
We had a great team tonight. Thank you to adult servers Erin Berman & Lou Hammerman, to teen helpers Sebastian, Rachel, Jake, and Sam, MSU intern Amber, MESH staffers Adrienne & Bonnie, and to security guard Joe.
