Report from Captain Stuart:

Shomrei provided another hot meal and refuge from the cold for eighteen grateful guests this evening. Our staffing was a bit lean, but highly efficient. The meal consisted mainly of food originally prepared for last week’s bar mitzvah (organized by John Lasiter, assisted by a cast of thousands), including an appetizer medley of tuna, egg, and white fish salad and crackers, mixed green salad, grilled salmon, noodle kugel, spanakopita, with a dessert of nut cake, apple crumble, and sliced oranges. Service was provided by long-time volunteer Sierra Wendeborn along with Rachel Kanter, and Siona, Pacey, and Avital Ely. Another solid performance by Team Shomrei.
