Lou started out, as he always does, lining roasting trays with aluminum foil and parchment paper – his tried-and-true method for ensuring that the food does not stick to the pans and that the pans are easy to clean.
He and Risa cut up and seasoned the potatoes while Carole helped Sarita chop up the salad.
Linda prepared the barbecue sauce and mixed in the chicken, ensuring that every piece was well coated. After finishing the potatoes, Risa joined her in mixing the chicken, declaring it to be therapeutic.
Lynn Kurzweil picked up the packed food for delivery to the Office.
We’re looking forward to resuming MESH in September.
Message from MESH Co-Chair. Lynne Kurzweil
This is the final report until we resume operations in September. For the months of July and August, Shomrei is donating $1000 to MESH to help defray the cost of providing meals over the summer. Shomrei will continue to offer any leftover food from our events. Aileen Grossberg graciously monitors what we have and arranges to bring it to The Office at 619 Bloomfield Ave, Montclair, where MESH serves 50-75 people 6 nights a week (Monday -Saturday). Joe Granger, MESH Executive Director, welcomes the extra food with open arms. If you have leftover platters or catering in your home and you would like to donate it to MESH, please call Joe at 917-828-7024 to make arrangements.
