On Monday evening, Shomrei teens came together to volunteer for MESH and formed the Teen Squad, led by Jordan with help from Collin and Eva. Collin also brought the cookies for the dinner dessert. MESH Mentor Fern Heinig planned the menu and did the shopping. The Squad ate pizza while organizing the tasks ahead and then went to work.
The menu they prepared: homemade gluten-free salmon burgers on a bun, tzikitki, couscous salad, and cole slaw.
On Tuesday, the adults took over. Julie Weinstein and Lynne Tapper were the Dream Packing Team, bagging the dinner boxes together with a clementine, protein bar, cookies, and water bottle.
Gail and Ian Stocks took on the responsibility of delivering the food bags to The Office.
Jordan and Eva are going to Co-Captain the Teen Squad. They had so much fun they want to bring their friends to help. Any Shomrei teen who may want to join the Teen Squad, speak with Jordan or Eva.
Cheers,
Fern
