Report from Captain & Cook Aileen Grossberg:

Tonight’s opening of the MESH Café at Shomrei was a great success. Despite being rained out of the sukkah, our guests felt the warmth of the holiday as Aileen Grossberg, standing in for captain Nick Levitin, welcomed the 20 guests with a very brief explanation of Sukkot and the sukkah.

The guests enjoyed a meal of hearty vegetable soup supplied by Amy Grossman, warm rolls and butter, crisp green salad with homemade Asian inspired dressing, Chinese smashed cucumber salad, roasted vegetables (cauliflower, carrots, peppers, purple onion and scallions) with a tamari and ginger glaze, baked cod marinated in teriyaki and ginger.
