Update to Shomrei’s Covid Policy

Dear Congregation Shomrei Emunah,

I am pleased to share with you our updated COVID19 protocols. As you will see, starting immediately, we have transitioned to a mask optional policy for all non-school activities. This shift in policy comes following the successful implementation of a mask optional policy for the first floor during the High Holy Days and was approved by the board at our most recent meeting after consultation with our Medical Committee, who agreed it is time to make this adjustment. The change also brings Shomrei into alignment with other congregations in Essex County.

Some of our structure will remain in place – please don’t come to Shomrei if you are not feeling well and please continue to test regularly. If you test positive, please let the office know ASAP so they might follow up with congregants who may have been exposed and encourage them to be vigilant and to test.

Finally, please get the newest booster shot – your best protection right now from COVID, and an immuno boost to help your body fight off any infection and keep you out of the hospital. Currently, it is being reported that only 5% of the national population has gotten the newest, Omicron focused booster. At Shomrei, we will remain vigilant and will adapt to changing circumstances as they emerge and as guidance from the government becomes available.

Thank you for struggling through two and half years of COVID policy with us as we try to do our best to protect you, each other, and our families from illness.

Sincerely,
Michael Sag
President
