Teshuvah – Return

Aug26 teshvahWe are almost at the end of the month of Elul when, according to traditional, we examine our behavior and begin the process of making amends , of returning to our best selves.

In that context, please check your home library shelves for the many books missing from our library. Some of you have received overdue notices- often several.

Aug 26 overdueThere have been requests from other readers for books that are long overdue and  I, as librarian, have not been able to help these readers.

We do not charge fines, but every book that is not returned is a new book that cannot be purchased. With a limited budget, replacing books is a luxury.

And some books cannot be replaced for they are out-of-print.

So as you search your hearts, please search your shelves.

No questions asked.

If you’ve lost a book, please email me and we can work something out, I am sure.

Toda Raba- Thank you for helping to keep our wonderful library as a resource for everyone.

  1. Ah, Aileen, thank you for your delicate nudge. I am one of the slackers who has had a book out since just before the Plague struck. If I don’t finish it by Rosh Hashanah, I will return it before Yom Kippur.

What do you think?
