Klinger Korner – August 2024

I hope everyone is having a great summer. Here at Shomrei, we celebrated the last day of camp on Friday with the Kona Ice Truck! Thank you to Aylah, Lesley, and Vanessa for another year of a wonderful summer camp. While I’ll be enjoying the quiet for the next two weeks, I will miss greeting the kids in the morning.

I wanted to share with you that the office renovations are progressing nicely. Come peek through the window and check it out!

When you walk into the building, you’ll notice the new bullet-proof door, which was purchased thanks to a grant from the Department of Homeland Security (please don’t test its durability).

The lobby is being fully repainted, and we have a new couch to enjoy!

When you join us for Kiddush, please note that we emphasize the environment and conservation. Please use the blue recycling bins for your clean paper, plastic, and metal. You’ll also enjoy the fresh herbs planted and lovingly taken care of by our very own Sharon Hurwich and her gardening group (many thanks!).

Lastly, as we gear up for the High Holy Days, please be on the lookout for an envelope from us containing the tentative schedule (put it on your fridge so you won’t forget), a greeting from President Aaron Delaney, and bracelets for the adults in your house to be used this year instead of tickets—do not lose or give them away. If you need more bracelets, please let me know, email hidden; JavaScript is required.

I hope to see everyone at Shomrei’s Back to Shul BBQ on Sunday, September 8!
