Friends,
We had a couple of exciting and busy months here at Shomrei.
I want to thank all of those who organized and participated in this year’s Art Mazel Tov. It was great to recognize Nancy, Charlie, and Romy for all their contributions to our community. It was very meaningful to celebrate as a congregation, even if I didn’t get to participate in the “fairy hair” booth.
I want to share with you our efforts towards building a more sustainable community. Shomrei goes green! Under the leadership of the Building and Grounds Committee, we enrolled in a government program to replace our existing light bulbs with more efficient LED lights. This will help reduce our energy consumption. We also installed a new bicycle rack and encourage everyone at Shomrei to either walk or ride their bike!
You’ll also notice that we have a new waste and recycle bin in the lobby. Please use them and expect to see more recycling bins around the building.
Please join us on Sunday, March 9, at 11 a.m. for the Purim Carnival and Thursday night, March 13, for child-friendly activities, dinner, Megillah reading and Purim Spiel – lots of fun!
Also coming up: Shalom Shomrei – be the friendly face of Shomrei. We are looking for volunteers to greet people in the lobby and show everyone what we all know, that Shomrei is a warm and welcoming community. Sign up here, with a friend, or meet a new friend! It’s fun, easy, and we have candy!
See you at Shomrei,
Ehud
