Chopping and Chatting in the Shomrei Kitchen

On Friday, March 25, the Shomrei kitchen was abuzz with the sound of knives on cutting boards and the voices of volunteers making new friends.

From tween Zen Lily, who’s a whiz at table setting, to Arthur Schuman, who makes a great tuna salad,  the kitchen was filled with cooks  sharing in the satisfaction of feeding our congregants and guests.

We welcomed new crew members, Suzanna Grobman, who will fill in for Aileen when she’s away,  and Erin Berman, who is helping out before she starts a new job. They are both assets to  kiddush prep.

You, too, can be part of this lively crew and get to know new people and learn new skills.

Do you know  the best way to mince an onion? dice a pepper? Have you ever reamed a lemon?

A grateful thanks to all of last week’s volunteers: Erin Berman, Elliot Fischer, Aileen Grossberg, Marc Grossberg, Miriam Haimes, Sharon Hurwich, Carol Katzman,  Nick Levitin,  Zen Lucey, and Arthur Schuman,

And a special thanks to Charlie Breslin whose donation of 15 pounds of coffee with ensure that the pot is always full during this heightened kiddush season.
