The days are shorter, and the temperature is dropping. It’s that time of year to go through the kid’s clothes and see what winter clothing still fits.
From my experience raising three sons, it always gave me pleasure to know that, after my boys had moved up to the next size, there was someone to whom these clothes could be passed and who might benefit from them.
In our Shomrei Community of Giving, there is an easy way to pass along outgrown clothes.
.
The Human Needs Food Pantry not only provides food to families, but also collects clothing for people who need it. The present focus is on children’s wear, since kids are constantly growing. You can help clothe someone else’s kids as winter approaches. Shomrei can make this convenient and painless for you.
We will be collecting suitable warm clothes for children up to age 12 from November 3 through November 17. Just drop the clothing in the collection box in the Shomrei lobby. The clothing must be clean, in good or gently worn condition, and allow children to feel comfortable wearing them in their daily lives.
At the Food Pantry they typically say “if your kids wouldn’t wear it, then chances are others wouldn’t either.”
