MESH Report Feb 14, 2023

A tasty meal reminiscent of foods made some time ago by mid century moms was planned, prepped and packed by Chef Lynne Kurzweil,  Sous Chef Miriam Haimes and able teen helper Jaden.

Crispy Breaded Cod fillets with tartar sauce accompanied by Cheesy Mashed Potatoes and Semi-homemade Cole Slaw, a hearty sub roll, a banana, two large Chocolate Chip Cookies, Valentine Hershey Miniatures , a water bottle and a snack pack for the morning completed the meal.  When Lynne dropped the 30 Grab N Go bags off at The Office she noticed some huge Valentine cupcakes laid out and ready for the evening.

Looks like it was a “Sweet” night for our MESH guests🥰

About MESH:

The Carol Starr MESH Cafe at Shomrei (Montclair Emergency Services for the Homeless) is a cooperative effort between the MESH organization and local synagogues and churches. While in-person service has been discontinued, we are providing hearty, nutritious take-out meals for the hungry. Shomrei’s turn is on Tuesday nights. Please help fulfill this crucial mitzvah by volunteering to help with food preparation or bagging or by making a donation at: shomrei.org/donate.
