MESH Report Feb 15, 2022

It was “all hands” in as Linda Ariel and Susan Rosenblatt assisted Chef Sarita Eisenberg in cooking for our MESH guests – making chicken with barbecue sauce, coleslaw and roast potatoes.

Added to the meal was an appetizer assortment that Aileen Grossberg had put together with leftovers from kiddush – lox, tuna and hummus or guacamole with a container of cream cheese and a handful of crackers. There were also leftover cookies for dessert along with an orange. Rounding out the meal were rolls from Colin.

The meals were packed into bags by Susan and Linda and loaded onto carts when Ehud and Mesh staffer Joe Tyson arrived to take them downstairs. A special thank you to Susan for doing all the washing up.

About MESH:

The Carol Starr MESH Cafe at Shomrei (Montclair Emergency Services for the Homeless) is a cooperative effort between the MESH organization and local synagogues and churches. While in-person service has been discontinued, we are providing hearty, nutritious take-out meals for the hungry. Shomrei’s turn is on Tuesday nights. Please help fulfill this crucial mitzvah by volunteering to help with food preparation or bagging or by making a donation at: shomrei.org/donate.
