MESH Report May 28, 2024

Chef Linda Wieseneck planned, shopped and prepared a familiar post Memorial Day BBQ feast along with sous chef Lynne Kurzweil. Additional helpers were seasoned volunteers Alex Kent and Carole Rothman.

Alex has the cole slaw prep down to a science!  We made BBQ chicken legs (three per guest) and sweet potato fries, in addition to the cole slaw. Each meal included a hero roll, 3 clementines , 2 variety packs of Oreo cookies and a water bottle.

Lynne delivered the 50 meal bags along with some extra chicken and rolls. A few of the guests helped me carry in all the bags and Joe, the new Executive Director of MESH, greeted me with open arms. They are so grateful for Shomrei’s consistent support and contributions to the program.

June 11 and June 25 are the last two dates where you can sign up to help before we break from meal prep during July and August. Shomrei will be providing MESH with funds to purchase meals during the summer months.
