MESH Report Nov 15, 2022

Gourmet Chef Fern Heinig prepared her famous Mediterranean Feast including Baked Salmon with Tzatziki Sauce, Green Bean and Potato Salad, Butternut Squash and Mixed Greens Salad with Pomegranate Seeds and Dijon Balsamic Vinaigrette (so pretty!), a hearty roll, tangerines and a breakfast bar.

Hailey and Collin baked Chocolate Chip Cookies and Gail and Ian Stocks provided fresh picked apples.  Lynne Kurzweil, super helper Susan Rosenblatt and first time helper Jaden portioned and packed the bags.  A good time was had by all.

Please join us so we can spread the joy around!

Please Note: Mr. and Mrs. Tyson reported that there is a new family, a mom and 2 children, who have been coming every day for a Grab N Go Meal.  They are staying in a shelter in town and the children don’t have adequate clothing, especially coats, etc. for the cold weather.  The boy wears a size 7 and the girl wears a size 5.  If you have any gently worn items to donate, please let me know and I will arrange to get them to the Tysons.

About MESH:

The Carol Starr MESH Cafe at Shomrei (Montclair Emergency Services for the Homeless) is a cooperative effort between the MESH organization and local synagogues and churches. While in-person service has been discontinued, we are providing hearty, nutritious take-out meals for the hungry. Shomrei’s turn is on Tuesday nights. Please help fulfill this crucial mitzvah by volunteering to help with food preparation or bagging or by making a donation at: shomrei.org/donate.
