MESH Report Nov 2, 2021

Shirley and David Grill and Linda Ariel planned, shopped and prepared 20 nutritious Grab and Go Meals at the Grills’ home and delivered them to the MESH Staff for distribution. The meals are now handed out at Shomrei on Tuesdays at or about 4 pm. The hearty bags included:

Menu:
Chicken fingers and potato puffs, kale salad, baby carrots, Swiss rolls, breakfast cookies, clementines and water!

Covid restrictions have presented us with many challenges as we strive to fulfill the MESH mission to feed food insecure members of our community. Our regular guests miss not just the warmth of our building but the friendly and welcoming environment we created for them each week. Hopefully, before too long, we’ll be able to recapture that spirit and fellowship that we shared together..

About MESH:

The Carol Starr MESH Cafe at Shomrei (Montclair Emergency Services for the Homeless) is a cooperative effort between the MESH organization and local synagogues and churches. While in-person service has been discontinued, donations from each institution are being used to provide hearty, nutritious meals for the hungry. Shomrei’s turn is on Tuesday nights. Please help fulfill this crucial mitzvah by making a donation at: shomrei.org/donate.
