Hinei Mah Tov Reenergized!

Allison Fishman Task (and assistants) will Chair Hinei Mah Tov programming.

This summer, we have made two significant changes toward a new and reenergized Hinei Mah Tov (HMT) service for the coming year.

I am excited to announce that congregant Allison Fishman Task has volunteered to chair the HMT Committee and will work with me and our HMT families to continue to develop the nachas (gratification), simcha (spirit) and ruach (joy) of HMT services. Please be in touch with Allison (email hidden; JavaScript is required) if you would like to help her develop, plan or host any upcoming HMT services.

Another exciting development: this summer we hired guitarist Mitch Radler as our song leader and JLC music teacher.

Mitch Radler, the new JLC and Hinei Mah Tov music leader.

Mitch is a wonderful singer, guitarist and pianist and posses a deep repertoire of both contemporary and traditional hebrew songs and prayer.

From 2010 – 2012 Mitch was the Song Leader/Music Specialist at the Union YM/YWHA summer program and, for the past two years at Camp Yachad at the JCC in Scotch Plains where he is currently completing his second summer as Music Specialist and Song Leader.

Mitch is the Lead Guitarist and vocalist for “The Shabbatones” – Camp Yachad’s very own Jewish Rock Band who perform every Friday afternoon to usher-in Shabbat in a fantastical and exciting way!

Mitch can also be seen performing Jewish and secular music throughout the area with his band “No Strings Attached”  and as a soloist at regular “Shabbat Alive” programs at Pine Brook Jewish Center where he and his family are members.

Thank You!
Shomrei is dependent on the generosity of it’s members. We would like acknowledge and thank Fern Henig, who was instrumental in our ability to hire a song leader for HMT as she pledged the funds and challenged HMT families to match her donation to raise money for a song leader. We would like also to thank the Breslin, Grill, Kanter/Ely, Lasiter/Shulman, Schwartz/Zimmerman and Task families for rising to that challenge.

We look forward to seeing you for our first HMT service of the year on Rosh Hashana – September 14th, at 11:00 am.

  1. A big Yasher Koach to Sara for continuing to be the force behind Hinei MaTov. This program is vital to our synagogue and we need leaders like Sara and Allison to make it happen

What do you think?
