Shalom,
As summer is winding down and everyone enjoys the last few weeks of vacation, we wanted to share with you what to expect when you return to Shomrei.
Our preschool teachers completed another successful camp season and are now preparing their classes for the first day of school. The entire staff and all of our volunteers are hard at work preparing for the High Holidays and fall season filled with a number of activities.
During the summer, a lot happened both inside and outside of the building which includes:
- creating a shaded area for the preschool playground
- installation of security bollards protecting both the front doors and side lawn
- introducing a brand new sound system in both the sanctuary and the social hall
- repairing segments of the Park Street sidewalk as well as the back stairs and handrail
- securing the Park Street doors and a number of other security measures
- removing the aging wallpaper and painting the social hall which brightens the space
- improving the landscaping by weeding and planting new flowers
This year, we have a lot of plans focused on beautifying both inside and outside of the building and we look forward to working with our many volunteers.
We look forward to celebrating the holidays with you.
