Reading the Entire Bible – Day by Day

929

A few years ago a project was started to gather readers in Israel and around the world to undertake reading a chapter of the Bible each day, from start to finish. There are 929 chapters altogether, so the project is called 929.

It started in the winter of 2014 and the first cycle was completed this summer.  As with our yearly reading of the Torah, the cycle has begun again and is presently in the middle of the Book of Exodus.

The project brings together readers who can read for themselves or join a discussion group, and it also provides a daily short dvar Torah every day.

This is an invitation to our Shomrei community – If you would like to join in this project, please contact me.

An exciting idea is to expand this by creating a discussion group – hopefully with the Israeli Masorti (Conservative) congregation in Kfar Vradim that has expressed such an interest. If we create a joint chavurah (fellowship) to study with our Israeli friends we will be accomplishing a double mitzvah of learning Torah and building bridges to Israel. – If you are interested please contact me: email hidden; JavaScript is required
