Pre-Passover Food Drive a Success!

This spring, for my Bat Mitzvah project, I had the opportunity to organize a Pre-Passover Food Drive to benefit seven families in the Family Promise Essex (formerly Interfaith Hospitality Network) program, collecting grocery items and cash donations that were put into ShopRite gift cards for each family. I am so happy to report that it was a success!

Thank you very much to everyone who donated or otherwise helped!

I am very excited to say that we raised over $1000.00 for these families in need.

Lastly, I am very grateful to have had amazing people helping me with this project. John Lasiter, thank you so, so much for all of your wonderful digital and communications support! And Shirley Grill, you are the best! I definitely couldn’t have done it without you.  You moved me from indecision to mission-focused in a flash, and did everything to help me surpass my goal! And a special shout out to Ehud Klinger and Carlos Alegre for helping with many steps in the process and David Grill for his kind delivery help. Lastly, I want to thank my mom, Kimberly Brown. You have helped me with this in so many ways and I am so grateful that you were willing and able to do whatever was needed to make this all go smoothly.

This project has been an amazing experience and a true honor. I am so happy and grateful to have been able to collect so much to help these families. I know it’s just a drop in the bucket and there’s so much more to do, but with this drive behind me, I will look forward to doing more!

Thank you again to everyone who helped and donated.
