The SHOMREI SIMCHA BAND will perform at a very special SHABBAT SERVICE on Friday, June 5 at 8:00 PM. Not only does the band make the service extra beautiful, but a guest speaker from Leket Israel will talk about Israel’s National Food Bank and how we, in Montclair, can get involved. So it is a double enhancement of an already beautiful service!
We hope you will say YES to the rehearsals and to playing on the actual Shabbat. Here is what you need to know right now:
Rehearsal #1: Sunday, May 17 at 11:45 AM -1:15 PM.
Rehearsal #2: Wednesday June 3 at 6:15 PM -7:45 PM.
It is difficult to arrange these rehearsals because of Memorial Day Weekend, Shavuot and the Israeli Day Parade. We are doing our best to accommodate your schedule and coordinate with the JLC and STOM calendar. Please do your best and join us at one or both rehearsals. We will provide pizza but if anyone is tired of pizza, and would like to prepare and sponsor a light meal for the band, let me know. We will be very happy to oblige!
I will e-mail music 1-2 weeks before the first rehearsal. We always have extra copies at rehearsals but you know it is much easier and more efficient if you can make copies and bring your own music.
Please let me know you are committed to the rehearsals and/or the band on Shabbat, June 5. Invite your friends and relatives (10 years and older with ability to read music) to join the band and come to this exciting Shabbat.
