From the Lampert Library
Be part of the greater library world and help celebrate National Library Week at the Lampert Library.
Here are some suggestions on how to make a library part of your life this week:
- Visit the Lampert Library and take a look at the treasure trove of books and movies.
- Go online to the Shomrei library catalog (www.shomrei.org). You’ll be amazed at what you might find. We have almost 2400 books already entered and lots more to go.
- Visit the Jewish Book Council site (Jewishbookcouncil.org). There you’ll find book reviews, essays, interviews and more.
- Visit the Association of Jewish Libraries site (jewishlibraries.org) for great booklists.
- Send an email (email hidden; JavaScript is required) to the library with the name of your favorite book or a book you’d like to see in the library.
- Think about joining the synagogue book club. You might discover something new.
- Encourage your children to learn one new thing from a library resource this week.
- Of course, use your public library to supplement the Lampert Library.
- Most important of all is to extend your knowledge and interests and disconnect from your devices for a little time to share words and ideas with other people.
