Summer Reading Suggestions

Summer’s a good time to  break out of your reading rut.

Do you only read biographies? Try a romance. (Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow by Zevin)

Are you scientific minded? Immerse yourself in some historical fiction. (The Thread Collectors by Edwards)

Is it too hot to cook? Read a cookbook for some ideas for warm weather foods. (52 Shabbats by Kramer)

You’re bombarded with words all day? Pick up a graphic novel. (Whistle: a new Gotham City hero by Lockhart)

Feed up with the here and now? Try fantasy. (The Hidden Palace by Wecker)

Are you a “serious” reader? Try something with some humor. ( The Floating Feldmans by Friedlander.)

Lastly, from the world of general reading is Lessons in Chemistry by Garmus. It’s  poignant, thoughtful, laugh-out-loud funny,  and  perfect for reading if you’ve seen the movie Barbie.

Adults should feel free to crossover to young adult books many of which are perfect for stress free summer reading.

The Lampert Library is filled with reading treasures for all ages. Come in; check the catalog online at home (Shomrei.org/library) or send an email (email hidden; JavaScript is required)
