Try some homemade hamantaschen for Purim this year. There are several hacks available to create hamantaschen with as few as two-yes, TWO- ingredients.
Pie Crust Hamantaschen
Ingredients:
Pie crust – Homemade or storebought
1 tsp of jelly, preserves or jam per cookie.
Cinnamon and sugar – optional
1 egg
1 tbsp of water
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
2. Roll out the pie crust on a lightly floured surface
3. Cut out circles with a 3 inch cookie cutter or a drinking glass.
4. Gather the scraps and reroll
5. Put the rounds on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet or sheet pan.
6. Top with about a teaspoon of jam, jelly or preserves.
7. 7then fold or pinch the corners to enclose the filling.
8. Mix egg with a tablespoon of water.
9. Put on middle rack of oven and bake for 10-18 minutes until lightly brown
10. Cool in pan for a few minutes. Transfer to a rack to cool completely.
11. Enjoy.
You can also make quick hamantaschen from cake mix. And for a fun supper, try pizza hamantaschen.
