MESH Report Dec 6, 2022

Chef Sarita Eisenberg prepared 25 to-go meals assisted by Lou Hammerman, Linda Ariel and teen helper Jaden (taking time out from b’nai mitzvah preparation).

Dinner included strawberry-balsamic glazed chicken, roasted potatoes and roast cabbage and onions. There was also a side salad, with cucumber and corn kernels added to extra arugula and tomatoes from last weekend’s kiddush. Dessert included two mandarin oranges and always popular oreo cookies. The meal was rounded out with a bottle of water and a roll plus a breakfast bar contributed by Gail Stocks.

Jennifer Moses arrived as the dinner bags were being packed, to transport the meals to MESH’s new dinner site.

About MESH:

The Carol Starr MESH Cafe at Shomrei (Montclair Emergency Services for the Homeless) is a cooperative effort between the MESH organization and local synagogues and churches. While in-person service has been discontinued, we are providing hearty, nutritious take-out meals for the hungry. Shomrei’s turn is on Tuesday nights.
