In Search of the Missing Potatoes, MESH Report Feb 22, 2022

Today’s MESH meal was prepared by Shirley Grill who was the shopper and lead Chef with the very able assistance of Susan Rosenblatt and David Grill (packing duty!). Sarah and Charles Steindel bought and delivered apples, string cheese and breakfast bars.

The menu included: Fish fillets in a beer batter with roasted carrots and potatoes;  kale salad (ably massaged by Susan); fruit: clementines, banana and apples and finished with cookies, string cheese, a breakfast bar and a bottle water.

There were many moving pieces to this dinner.   Added to the many items, the salad and the potatoes were in similar containers…resulting in someone getting double salad and someone else getting potatoes.  The quality team could not find the duplicates!!

All in all, the guests received hearty meals thanks to a great team!!

About MESH:

The Carol Starr MESH Cafe at Shomrei (Montclair Emergency Services for the Homeless) is a cooperative effort between the MESH organization and local synagogues and churches. While in-person service has been discontinued, we are providing hearty, nutritious take-out meals for the hungry. Shomrei’s turn is on Tuesday nights. Please help fulfill this crucial mitzvah by volunteering to help with food preparation or bagging or by making a donation at: shomrei.org/donate.
