Thank you to everyone who donated to this year’s High Holiday food drive. With your support, we were able to provide food to Family Promise, Toni’s KItchen and the Human Needs Food Pantry. We were also able to set aside some of the food to help keep for our LIttle Pantry stocked.

Thank you to Ehud Klinger for reminding us that it was time to start the food drive. Thank you to Shirley Grill for organizing the food drive and to Linda Ariel for assisting with the food delivery. Thank you also to Carlos Alegre and Ehud for helping to load up our cars.

Shomrei is commmitted to helping our food insecure neighbors. Please support this effort by bringing non-perishable food in cans, plastic containers or boxes (no glass and no expired food, please!). You can put items directly in the Little Pantry in front of Shomrei or leave your donations in the Giving Corner box in the lobby.

Sarita Eisenberg

Sarita is a co-VP for Programming and a co-chair for Shomrei's Social Action Committee. She is also co-editor of ShomreiWeek (Shomrei's weekly newsletter) and the Kol Emunah Blog. She holds a Ph.D. in Language Science and until recently was a professor in the Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders at Montclair State University. She lives in Montclair with her husband Lou Hammerman.
