New Year, New Books

New year1

On display in the Gallery are a few of the Lampert Library’s recent acquisitions including books for all ages. Take a look and feel free to borrow these and any other books that catch your fancy.

Please, however, remember to bring back books in a timely manner-especially the new books. The Lampert Library is for everyone. But it doesn’t work unless borrowers bring items back so that others can read them.

Enjoy the riches of the Lampert Library and share them with your family. We have wonderful books for kids and teens, too.

Make sure to stop by the Library located next to Rabbi Greenstein’s office. You’ll find thousands of additional books, videos, CDs and magazines.

The 4,000-volume (and counting) Alan Lampert Memorial Library at Congregation Shomrei Emunah is one of the gems in our inheritance, and an essential part of our synagogue’s intellectual and educational life.

From its complete collection of the Talmud to its vast array of children’s stories, picture and board books, young nonfiction, Holocaust-related works, contemporary fiction, illustrated Megillot, cookbooks and reference works, the unassuming but inviting Lampert Library contains a whole, wide world of knowledge and literature ripe for exploring by students and learners of all ages.

  1. Aileen doesn’t mention that she has been engaged in digitizing the entire Lampert Library collection (with some occasional help from me), so that it’s entire holdings will be searchable online. All thanks and praise to Aileen!
