Come see “Beauty and the King” during the Megillah-reading service on Erev Purim, Wednesday, February 28th, 7:20pm (approximately).

Featuring songs from Beauty of the Beast, this shpiel was adapted for Purim by our very own Lily Lucey.  Our show was directed by Lisa Pendola and Lily Lily Lucey.

Our glittering cast includes – Lila B. as our narrator, Delia K. as Haddasah/Esther, Isaac R. as Mordechai, Andy Silikovitz as Achashverosh, Elana F. as Haman, Zen L. as Zeresh, Talia F. as  BigTan, Kate B. as Teresh, and Maya R. as beaty contestant.

Special thanks go to Josh Levitin for recording our piano accompaniment! Thank you to all the families who brought their kids to rehearsals. We also greatly appreciate the assistance of JLC teacher Yael Webber who helped us to find rehearsal space at B’Nai Shalom in West Orange!

Lisa Pendola

Lisa came to Shomrei as an MSU student in the late '80s, and became a member shortly after.Although she and her family reside in Clifton,Shomrei will always be her Jewish home. You can find her at the Sunday AM minyan, or in the Purim Shpiel.Lisa works as a Technical Assistant at Montclair State University's Harry A. Sprague Library.
