Mesh Cafe Mar 22, 2016

From Captain Aileen Grossberg:
On a balmy Tuesday evening, 23 guests dined at Shomrei’s MESH Cafe. Chef Lynne Kurzweil served a well-balanced, tasty meal consisting of tomato and red pepper soup with elbow macaroni and pizza crackers on the side. (The pizza crackers were repurposed from pizza leftover from the Purim carnival); a mixed green salad courtesy of kiddish prep; multigrain bread; baked tilapia with a panko parmesan crust; and brown rice pilaf with broccoli and red peppers, cooked to perfection in our electric rice cooker. Dessert was a giant chocolate chip cookie accompanied by fresh strawberries.
Each guest went home with a shalach manot bag. Captain Aileen Grossberg explained the reason for the take-away bag by telling a condensed version of the Purim story.

Guests were very appreciative. One even wanted to kiss the chef!
The evening went smoothly thanks to the efficient crew consisting of teens Matt, Lexie, Amalia, Elisa, Sam and new volunteer Ray. As usual, MESH staffers Adrienne and Devlin helped make everything run perfectly.
Sorry, no pictures this week.
