From Captain Lynne Kurzweil

We welcomed 22 grateful guests to the MESH Cafe at Shomrei this past Tuesday night.  A hearty and nourishing meal was prepared by yours truly beginning with split pea and barley soup with garlic bread. 

Main course was salmon with garlic, lemon and rosemary, crisp roasted potatoes and roasted broccoli with lemon and Parmesan cheese.  Dessert was chocolate chip cookies and brownies made previously by our STOM students and fresh apples hand picked and donated by the Silver and Legman families.  Our wonderful teens, Davida and Amalia, were indispensable helpers in the kitchen and out in the dining area.  MSU Intern, China and MESH staffers Adrienne, Bonny and Joe helped to make sure that all ran smoothly.

Our volunteers have been consistent but very few….we need more helpers to share in this effort.  Please sign up to help

Lynne is a long-time Shomrei Congregant.She is co-chair of Shomrei's MESH Cafe (Montclair Emergency Services for the Homeless) which provides a hot dinner and respite for homeless individuals every Tuesday night. She is a registered dietitian and lives in Montclair with her husband, Lanny.
