MESH Report March 12, 2024

We had a great group that made preparing and packing 50 meals easy work, not to mention the lively conversation!

Chef Lynne organized a hearty, tasty and colorful meal of Panko Crusted Tilapia, Sweet Potato Fries and Cole Slaw, accompanied by a hearty club roll (makes a great fish-a-ma-jig sandwich for those who can recall) and a mini cup of homemade tartar sauce. Aileen Grossberg contributed pudding, chocolate chip cookies and clementines for dessert. Of course we included a water bottle for good measure.

Sous chefs were Alex Kent, Carole Rothman and Carol Ziegler-Blau. Expert packers and new MESH volunteers Noah and Aaron Delaney helped finish the task in near record time.

Lynne brought the bags over to The Office, where Patricia and her crew accepted our contribution with big smiles and multiple thank yous. Patricia is particularly grateful that Shomrei has been donating any usable leftovers from our weekend events. Each Monday Aileen checks the inventory, lets Patricia know what’s available and facilitates delivery by bringing it herself or packing it up for Patricia to pick up. Yasher Koach Aileen!

Shomrei prepares, packs and delivers 50 meals for MESH on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month. If you would like to join us at Shomrei in this important mitzvah please sign up at:   www.shomrei.org/mesh
