MESH Mentor Fern Heinig planned the menu and did the shopping. The Squad ate pizza while organizing the tasks ahead and then went to work. Continue reading

Yasher Koach to Elana Slobodien & Thank You to Yechiel Felder
It is a mitzvah to listen to the shofar on Rosh Hashanah (hence the alternative name Yom Teruah, Day of the [Shofar] Blowing). We were helped to fulfill that mitzvah this year by preschool parent, Elana Slobodien.
For two decades, Shomrei has been lucky to have Yechiel Felder perform this beautiful mitzvah for the community. This year he’s stepped-down from this task. We are all very grateful to Yechiel for his many years of Shofar blowing. Yasher Koach Yechiel!

Meet the Stocks
Welcome to Shomrei!
Gail and Ian Stocks relocated their empty nest this past year to Montclair. They love all this town has to offer, already volunteering to put up our Sukkah at Shomrei, while also volunteering with local organizations here like Outpost in the Burbs and Bike and Walk Montclair.
Gail is a pediatric occupational therapist at the Phoenix Center, and Ian is a managing director at Tradeweb. Their daughter, Shannon, attends the speech-language pathology graduate program at New York Medical College. Their son, Collin graduated The Cooper Union with a degree in electrical engineering and currently works as lead engineer at Spincar.
But mostly you are likely to find Gail and Ian walking their dog, Cozi throughout every park in this beautiful town!
We are delighted that Gail & Ian are now members of the Shomrei family!
